HubSpot Developer Events Code of Conduct

Our goal with developer events is to bring together our global community of developers for an uplifting time of networking, sharing, and learning that is beneficial for everyone. This applies equally to both in-person and virtual event formats. We believe that an explicit Code of Conduct helps ensure all participants understand what is expected of them.

This Code of Conduct may be revised at any time by HubSpot at its sole discretion. Your registration for, or attendance at, any HubSpot developer event—whether in-person or virtual—indicates your agreement to abide by this Code of Conduct.

All attendees, speakers, sponsors, vendors, partners, HubSpot staff, and volunteers at our events are required to adhere to the following Code of Conduct. Event organizers will enforce this Code throughout the event. Participants violating these rules may be removed from the event at the sole discretion of HubSpot organizers or their representatives. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

Our Code of Conduct can be summarized as: Be considerate and respectful in your speech and actions. Below are some examples of what this means for both in-person and virtual environments:

Be Inclusive

  • In-person: Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior or speech. Ensure that your physical surroundings (e.g. clothing, accessories, background visuals) are free of offensive material.

  • Virtual: Likewise, your video and audio background—including any images, framing, or attire—should not contain disparaging or discriminatory content.

Harassing language or behavior, including obscenities or comments referencing gender, race, religion, political affiliation, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, or similar, will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the event.

Be Thoughtful

  • In-person: Do not intentionally disrupt presentations or interrupt attendees speaking or asking questions.

  • Virtual: Do not repeatedly interrupt the speaker or other attendees via unmuting, chat spamming, or camera distractions.

Be respectful of fellow participants and presenters’ time. Avoid monopolizing Q&A sessions or dominating discussions in a way that detracts from the inclusive and equitable exchange of ideas.

Follow Guidelines

  • In-person: Do not make audio or visual recordings of presentations, sessions, or other content, as this may infringe upon HubSpot’s intellectual property rights or those of third parties.

  • Virtual: Likewise, refrain from screen-recording, streaming, or saving recordings of sessions, unless explicitly permitted by the presenter or event organizers.
