How do I create a HubSpot App Marketplace listing for my app?

With a developer account in HubSpot, you can create an application to integrate with HubSpot.  Once you’ve created your app, submit a listing to add your app to the HubSpot App Marketplace. HubSpot will review your listing and follow up via email.  Please note, you must be a Super Admin to successfully update and submit the app listing for.  If the submit for review button is grayed out, please check that you have filled out all required fields. 

To submit an app listing for review:

  • In the main navigation menu of your developer account, navigate to MarketplaceListings.

  • Click Create listing. If this button is grayed out, listings have already been submitted for all of your existing apps.
  • Select the app you want to create a listing for. Apps that have already been added to the Marketplace will not appear here. 
  • Click Next.

  • In the App information section, enter the basic information about your app:
    • Public name: enter the name that will appear on your listing.
    • Tagline: enter a brief description of what your app does for users.
    • Connect button URL: enter the URL on your website where users can integrate your app with HubSpot.
  • In the App Icon section, click Upload to add an icon that will appear in the App Marketplace and in users’ accounts when they connect your app.

  • Upload a square icon that’s 1200px by 1200px
  • Make sure your file is a JPG, JPEG, or PNG
  • Design your icon to fill the entire space touching at least 2 edges
  • Use a clear image that isn’t pixilated
  • Don’t include text in your app icon
  • Try not to use a full logo wordmark. Your app name will appear next to your icon.
  • Don’t leave extra white space around your icon

  • In the Categorize your app section, click the Category dropdown menu to select the category that best fits your app. Then click the dropdown menu below to select up to five features that apply to your app. The available features here are based on the category you selected above.
  • Under Search terms, you can add up to six search terms to make sure your app appears in search results for specific queries. Type a search term and press Enter/Return or click Create option “[search term]” in the dropdown menu. Separate multiple search terms with a comma.

  • Click the App Details tab.
  • To include a demo video in your app listing, click Upload under Demo video. Your video must be a WebM or MP4 file and should not include any sensitive information. Your demo should:
    • Provide users with a brief overview of your product/integration.
    • Walk through key customer use cases.
    • State the task to be performed and by whom.
    • Indicate data what data is syncing to or from HubSpot.
    • Show HubSpot UI elements  (CRM Extensions, Timeline Events, Workflow Extensions) and how customers are expected to use them
    • Be five minutes or less.  
  • In the Images section, click Upload and add at least one screenshot image to your listing. In the Image caption text box, enter a description for your screenshot. You can add up to seven additional screenshots by clicking Add screenshot.

  • In the Key Benefits text box, highlight a few benefits that users will get from your app. Format your text using the rich text toolbar at the bottom to draw attention to your copy.

  • In the How it works with HubSpot section, add information and screenshots for at least two specific features in your app:
    • In the Headline field, enter a brief description of the feature.
    • Under Screenshot, click Upload to add a screenshot of the feature.
    • In the Paragraph box, add additional information about the feature which will appear under the feature headline. 
  • To add more than two feature headlines and screenshots, click Add another.

  • Click the HubSpot plans your app works with dropdown menu and select the HubSpot plans a user must have to use your app.
  • Click the HubSpot features your app works with dropdown menu and select up to ten HubSpot tools that your app syncs with.

  • In the Shared Data section, click Add shared data.
  • In the right panel, add information about the different types of data that will sync to and from HubSpot when your app is connected:
    • Click the HubSpot data dropdown and select the type of HubSpot data that will sync to or from objects in your app.
    • Click the Direction dropdown and select the direction this data will be syncing:
      • Sync to HubSpot: data from your app will create or change data in HubSpot.
      • Sync from HubSpot: data from HubSpot will create or change data in your app.
      • Two-way sync: data will sync back and forth between HubSpot and your app.
    • In the Your app field, enter the tool or object in your app that information will sync to or from.
    • To add additional items, click Add another.
    • To share additional information with users about how data is shared, enter it in the More info about shared data box.
    • Click Save.

  • If your app integrates with any other software, type the software name in the Other tools your software integrates with dropdown menu and press Enter/Return or click Create option “[search term]” in the dropdown menu. You can separate multiple entries with a comma.
  • Click the Pricing tab. Here you can add up to five pricing plans to let HubSpot users know how much your application costs.
  • Select a Plan type:
    • Free: users can connect to your app for free. You can still add additional charges for tiered usage of specific features.
    • Recurring: set up a monthly or yearly recurring subscription for your app. Select a frequency, then enter the monthly or yearly rate. If you select Monthly for your frequency, you have the option to add a discounted yearly rate for users who want to be billed once for the whole year.
    • One-time fee: users will be billed the fee entered when they connect to your app.
  • If you will be charging fees for additional services or features, enter them in the Additional charges field.
  • If you want to allow users to trial your app before paying, enter the number of days for your free trial period in the Free trial field.
  • In the Plan name field, enter a name to help users identify this pricing plan.
  • In the Tagline field, enter a brief description of the plan.
  • In the Features list field, let users know what features are included in this plan.
  • If you want to add additional pricing plans, click Add another plan. You can include up to five pricing plans.

  • If you have a more detailed pricing page for your app, enter the URL in the Link to your software’s pricing plans field.
  • If you offer any agency partner or consulting services, enter the URL linking users to more information in the Agency pricing plans field.
  • Click the Support info tab. Here you can provide users with self-service resources and contact information if they need help using your app.
  • Enter an email address in the Support email field. You can also provide a phone number and links to your company website, live chat, and/or Facebook page.
  • Click the Support languages dropdown menu and select any languages that you provide support in.

  • In the Resources section, enter URLs for your setup documentation, terms of service, and privacy policy. You can also add additional URLs to share your support website, community form, etc.
  • Click the Review info tab. In the App review instructions text box, enter instruction for HubSpot’s team to test your application.
  • Click Submit to submit your listing for review, or click Save draft to save your progress and return to it later.

Once you’ve submitted your application, HubSpot will review it and follow up by email to ask for additional information or notify you of approval.
