Introducing the HubSpot deep research connector
In today’s AI-driven world, speed isn’t enough—context is everything. A complete view of the customer journey gives businesses a competitive edge, especially when AI is only as powerful as the data behind it. That’s why we’re excited to introduce the HubSpot deep research connector in ChatGPT.
HubSpot is the first CRM to launch a deep research connector with ChatGPT. The connector was built by the HubSpot team and is the first third-party connector available in the ChatGPT registry. We also did it with a remote MCP server to extend ChatGPT – more to come on our engineering blog! With it, businesses can apply powerful, doctorate-level research capabilities to their customer data and context from HubSpot.
So, what does the HubSpot deep research connector do?
The HubSpot deep research connector lets you use natural language to retrieve and analyze data from key HubSpot CRM objects—deals, companies, contacts, tickets, and their associations (read access only).
This lets you leverage the connector for strategic research–to conduct deep analysis on large datasets, test hypotheses, explore market opportunities, and uncover insights through complex, multi-variable analysis.
Strategic use cases
- Marketers can ask “find my highest-converting cohorts from recent contacts and create a tailored nurture sequence to boost engagement,” then use the insights to launch an automated workflow in HubSpot.
- Sales teams can find new opportunities by asking, “segment my target companies by annual revenue, industry, and technology stack. Based on that, identify the top opportunities for enterprise expansion,” then bring them back to HubSpot for prospecting.
- Customer success teams can say, “identify inactive companies with growth potential and generate targeted plays to re-engage and revive pipeline,” then take those actions in the Customer Success Workspace in HubSpot to drive retention.
- Support teams can say, “analyze seasonal patterns in ticket volume by category to forecast support team staffing needs for the upcoming quarter,” and activate Breeze Customer Agent in HubSpot to handle spikes in support tickets.
Getting Started is Simple & Secure
Setup is fast and straightforward—no code, no complex setup.
The HubSpot deep research connector will automatically be available to all HubSpot customers across all tiers who have a paid ChatGPT plan (Enterprise, Team, Pro, Plus, or Edu; EU customers will need a ChatGPT Team, Enterprise, or Edu plan.) To access the connector, individuals must have an active HubSpot user account and log in using their HubSpot credentials.
The HubSpot deep research connector is currently only available in the web version of ChatGPT.
Before you begin: A HubSpot Super Admin (user with the highest permissions level) or a user with App Marketplace permissions must complete the initial setup. Their account must be connected first in order for others in the portal to access and use the connector.
Then follow these steps:
- In your ChatGPT chat window, go to Tools > Run Deep Research.
- Click Sources, then select HubSpot and click Connect.
- A pop-up will appear, prompting you to continue to HubSpot.
- Authenticate using your HubSpot credentials.
- After logging in, select the HubSpot account you want to connect to.
- Once connected, you’ll be redirected to ChatGPT Settings > Connectors, where HubSpot will appear as a verified connection.
The connector adheres to existing HubSpot permissions—users can only access the data they’re authorized to see. HubSpot customer data is not used for AI training in ChatGPT.
All functionality accessed through ChatGPT deep research is subject to HubSpot’s API usage limits and platform guidelines and ChatGPT is a third party service governed by your terms with OpenAI.
That’s it—no API configurations, no dev work. Once connected, you can start using natural language to analyze your customer data with deep research, and take action on those insights to boost marketing, sales, and service outcomes.
We look forward to what you can accomplish with it!
