Meet App Cards Powered by UI Extensions

There’s now a more modern and flexible framework for building dynamic apps in HubSpot. UI extensions are the first step toward a more open platform where you can craft deeper experiences that integrate seamlessly with the rest of HubSpot.

Tomorrow, we will announce the availability of app cards for HubSpot admins to configure in their portals, so users can view, sync, and action data between HubSpot and the rest of their tech stack. These are the output of UI extensibility.

For app partners, read on to learn more about gaining early access to UI extensions.

More surfaces for stickier apps

With UI extensions, apps are front-and-center in highly used areas of the HubSpot product, including the record middle column, right sidebar, preview panel, and helpdesk ticket sidebar across all standard objects with record pages.

With these new surfaces, Arrows, a customer onboarding app, reimagined their user experience in HubSpot. Some of Arrows’ app cards are available in the helpdesk sidebar, so users can now see onboarding plan status in support tickets, and in the middle column, so related forms and files are easily viewed. Through these app cards, more actionable information is surfaced to users, including a redesigned onboarding completion status displayed as a slick new progress bar.

Apps with app cards are also featured in a collection that extends beyond the App Marketplace and into HubSpot, embedded where this type of customization is most relevant to users and instantly available for discovery.

Customize extensible design

With more control over how your app appears in HubSpot, you can now give users an immersive experience that looks, feels, and behaves HubSpot-native.

Included in the UI extensions beta is a Figma Design Kit, which centralizes all components, their variants, and distinct visual states. Collaborating development and design teams can preview how app cards will render in HubSpot and gain clarity on customizable components.

Sendoso, an industry-leading sending platform that also built app cards, serves up a visually appealing and intuitive app experience that feels seamless to the end-user.

Crafted, not cobbled

Past attempts to create an end-to-end app experience meant piecing together different buttons and iframes across HubSpot. Now, UI extensions offer a new framework with tools to build a more cohesive and contextually-aware app experience. We are finally meeting users where they are – in the right place, at the right time, with actionable information.

Looking to reduce context-switching between tools, PandaDoc, a document workflow integration, built app cards to improve productivity for their customer base and increase app usage.

In addition to full-stack UI extensions, this beta includes early access to the HubSpot CLI, managing app configuration as code via developer projects framework and UI extensions SDK, and a hybrid development model for iterating on app features.
