The remote HubSpot MCP server is a publicly hosted endpoint for connecting external AI tools and applications to HubSpot’s CRM. It enables an agent to read, write, and update HubSpot records (contacts, companies, deals, tickets, and more) as a user would.
Already using Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or Gemini? HubSpot offers AI connectors for those tools, so you can work with your HubSpot data directly without building a custom integration. The HubSpot MCP server is for builders who need to integrate HubSpot data access into an agent they’re creating.
Unlike the Developer MCP server, which helps you build on HubSpot’s platform, the remote HubSpot MCP server is designed for agents to take actions within a user’s HubSpot account on their behalf. HubSpot’s own AI connectors for Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, and ChatGPT are powered by this server.

When to use the HubSpot MCP server

The remote HubSpot MCP server is a good fit when you want your agent to be able to:
  • Pull contact lists: find contacts matching specific criteria (lifecycle stage, last activity date, deal association) without building a filter in HubSpot.
  • Ask questions about their pipeline: get plain-language summaries of where deals stand, which ones are stalled, and what changed recently.
  • Turn meeting notes into record updates: describe what happened in a meeting and have the agent create or update the right contacts, companies, and deals.
  • Understand why deals are lost: surface common patterns across closed-lost deals by asking the agent to analyze deal properties and activity history.

Getting connected

The remote HubSpot MCP server uses to connect securely to your HubSpot account. The setup process varies depending on which AI tool you’re using, but the general steps are:
  1. Open your AI tool’s settings and add a new MCP server connection.
  2. Enter the HubSpot MCP server URL provided by HubSpot (https://mcp.hubspot.com).
  3. Authorize the connection by signing in to your HubSpot account when prompted.
The AI tool handles the authentication flow for you, so you don’t need to manage or configure manually. For full setup instructions, see Integrate with the remote HubSpot MCP server.
